This particular barrel has such a dark and robust color to match the sherry bomb on the palate. Karuizawa closed the distillery in 2001 and eventually sold off the remaining aging stocks to Independent bottler Number One Drinks in 2007 reviving the brand and the lore of the once famed distillery.
